UN Secretary General emphasizes Belarus' special place in multilateral diplomacy

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres emphasized Belarus' significant contribution and special place in multilateral diplomacy as he met with Belarus' Permanent Representative to the UN Valentin Rybakov, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The parties discussed Belarus-UN cooperation prospects.

As BelTA earlier reported, Valentin Rybakov was appointed Belarus' Permanent Representative to the UN on 7 August.

PM: Belarus hopes for greater cooperation, new projects with EBRD

Belarus hopes to boost cooperation and implement new projects with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said as he met with EBRD President Suma Chakrabarti, BelTA has learned.

Bilateral documents signed during Lukashenko's official visit to India

A number of bilateral agreements was signed during the official visit of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko to India. After the official negotiations of the Belarusian head of state with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi the parties signed and exchanged documents, BelTA informs.

Belarus PM expects timely commissioning of 2019 European Games facilities

Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov instructed to complete the construction of the facilities for the Second European Games in Minsk in time, BelTA has learned.

During the visit to the construction site of the Student Village the Belarusian head of government was briefed on the progress made in the construction of its biggest dormitory. The 25-storeyed building being built in Dzerzhinskogo Avenue is designed to accommodate 1,800 people.

Lukashenko: Belarus wants to become world leader in potash fertilizers production

Belarus has outlined plans to become a world leader in the production of potash fertilizers, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with Russian businessman, Chairman of the Board of IOOO Slavkaliy Mikhail Gutseriyev on 31 August, BelTA has learned.

The president remarked that Belarus is one of the leaders in the manufacturing and sale of potash fertilizers, including pelletized fertilizers, today.

Lukashenko, Putin discuss bilateral ties over phone
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko discussed topical issues of bilateral relations during a telephone conversation, BelTA learned from the press service of the Russian head of state.

The two leaders discussed the urgent issues of the bilateral and international agenda and also the schedule of upcoming contacts, reads the statement.

Vladimir Putin extended birthday greetings to Alexander Lukashenko and wished him strong health and further success.
